Introduction
Pikuniku is a casual puzzle game where players embark on an adventure, encountering a variety of characters and working together to solve puzzles using various items in the environment. This rewards players with rich rewards and gradually uncovers a grand conspiracy. The game supports custom levels; use the editor to strategically arrange obstacles and puzzles, and share your creations with the community to earn likes and comments from other players. Fans of puzzle adventure games shouldn't miss Pikuniku!
Tips and Tricks of Pikuniku:
There are some additional tricks that will help you complete this faster, or with less frustration.
Roll to Move Faster: Generally speaking, you are going to move a lot faster by rolling. You should be rolling whenever possible. When you release from your roll, Piku will perform a hop. You can use this short hop to clear some obstacles, but be aware of when you will need a full jump to make the distance.
Use Momentum to Swing Higher: When swinging from swing anchors, you will mostly only need to be moving left or right. However, if you push in either direction with the analogue stick, you can usually swing all the way around to land on the platform directly above the swing anchor. This saves you time in some sections. It will also be required in later levels to reach co-op trophies.
Using the Water Hat: Halfway through the game, you'll be given the water hat. With the water hat equipped you can water certain flowers to raise them into a larger plant to use as a platform. It is important to note that you have to interact with these flowers with the water hat equipped (as opposed to simply interacting to perform the generic hat function).
Finding Hidden Sections: Throughout the game, hidden sections will be marked by jagged edges in the walls. They shouldn't be hard to see, and you will need to enter some as part of the main story. Some walls will need to be kicked to break open, marked by visible cracks in the wall. You can buy X-Ray glasses from the shop in the forest town for fifty coins, which make spotting these a bit easier.

Player Comments of Pikuniku:
Overall, it's interesting. Everything in the trailer is more or less what you're getting. A compelling premise (Devolver definitely marketed this as well as they could), plenty of interesting ideas and moments, with somehow brilliant level design yet mediocre bosses. "100%'d" in about 3 hours. Art is charming and i didn't run into a single issue as far as bugs or coding or any of that goes. You get 3 fairly decent hours of that trailer. Decide how much that's worth to you.
Pikuniku is a charming little puzzle platformer that reminds me a bit of Locoroco. It lacks in content, But it makes up for it with co op gameplay, a funny story and a very coherent experience. It has a little story, It is very short, The story should take you around 2 - 3 hours. but it is a good experience, The game is very coherent with all its elements, The soundtrack, graphics, gameplay, story. It all feels just right. You play as a little red monster with 2 legs, You mostly spend the game helping the npcs with their problems, There are also a few very basic side missions. There is Local coop in special coop levels, You can also play Bassketball locally against eachother. The levels are pretty short, But it should fill up about an hour of co op gameplay, I think coop is pretty fun, but it could use a lot more levels with a lot more challenge in my opinion.
Pikuniku is essentially Capitalism for Babies in game format. I played the game alongside my 5 y.o. child who was able to enjoy the game with help reading out the dialogues and solving some of the harder puzzles and battles. Just like the characters in the Pikuniku universe, she started out being very excited about seeing Mr. Sunshine and the prospect of getting "free money", but gradually started to question his actions. The game became a helpful tool in explaining the impacts of rampant capitalism and overexploitation of resources. This was of course all possible by the virtue of the game's entertaining storyline and gags, enjoyable soundtrack, as well as endearing character designs. All this at an affordable price, to boot. Now that we have completed the game, we have also had fun playing the co-op stages together.

Walkthrough of Pikuniku:
The game opens with a commercial in which the character Mr. Sunshine, a pink creature in a top hat, offers to give the island's citizens "free money" in exchange for their "junk" that he collects using his giant robots. What he collects is actually valuable resources, such as food, for the citizens of the island.
Afterwards, Piku is awakened by a ghost in a cave. The ghost is kind to Piku and tells him that he needs to leave the cave. After Piku comes out, he discovers that he's actually been erroneously painted by a legend as an evil beast, and after accidentally breaking a bridge, he is put in a cage by the frightened inhabitants of the nearby village called The Mountain Village. However, Piku is let free after the villagers decide he is harmless because he agrees that he will fix the bridge.
Once Piku has earned the townsfolk's trust by fixing the bridge, he explores the area. He talks to the town's troubled painter who drew a non-scary face for a scarecrow around a field of corn. Right after Piku draws a new one, a flying robot comes and sucks up all the corn the townspeople have been growing and scatters free money to placate them. Later, Mr. Sunshine is on another robot and says that he is going to take a member of the crowd back for a tour of his volcanic base. He chooses a townsperson Eli, who is picked up by the robot and taken alay.
Piku then travels through a swamp and reaches a forest, where he finds another robot chopping down all the trees. Some leaf villagers are stuck in the chopped trees, so he helps bring them down. They explain to him that the robots made by Mr. Sunshine must be stopped. Piku then follows them into a nightclub where he dance-battles the dance king robot and wins, showing that he is not a spy of Mr. Sunshine. The three forest villages trust Piku and let him join their group, "the Resistance", against Mr. Sunshine. They show him their base, which is in an abandoned underground metro station that had been abandoned by Mr. Sunshine long ago. Together, they destroy the tree-chopping robot.
Following the defeat of the first robot, a villager from The Mountain Village comes asking for help from The Resistance, saying that the robot is stealing all of their village's corn. Piku then returns to the town, which is now raining, and, with the help of The Resistance, defeats the robot.
When they return to the team base, the Resistance is approached by a worm asking for help because the water in his home dried up. The group suspect Sunshine Inc.'s involvement and decide to help, using the newly reactivated metro system to reach a lake. When they get there, they find that the robots have built a dam and one is sucking up all the water with a straw. The Resistance head underground into the mines to meet the worms.
Mother, a giant worm, recounts how the worms have been suffering due to the lack of the lake's water, which they used to drink and bathe in. She asks them to rescue her child Ernie. Piku goes to search for him and finds that he drank too much of green water from a pipe further underground from Sunshine Inc., and becomes too full of the chemical water to move. While transporting him through the cave, Piku discovers a room filled with charred bodies of creatures that resemble Mr. Sunshine, and the worm reveals they were killed by an erupting volcano after mining too close to it. Once Ernie is brought back to his mother, the worms assist Piku in destroying Mr. Sunshine's last robot. He then destroys it with the help of the worms. After that, Mr. Sunshine comes in his flying robot and picks Piku up and captures Piku by bringing him to Sunshine Inc. headquarters in the volcano.
Conclusion:
Simple pastel colors, the goofy character and his outrageous walking animations, and the entire Paint–inspired art style just immediately clicked. This is the kind of game that certainly isn’t for everyone, but offers a charming, brilliantly clever adventure that you can’t stop thinking about.
