Gameplay of Gungrave G.O.R.E:

Shooting: Fires .4 bullets at enemies with every shot. The auto-target system prioritizes whatever enemy or destructible object is closer to the crosshair.

Shield: Protects player from enemy attacks until the shield gauge is depleted. The guage recovers after once damage has been avoided for some time.

HP: If the player takes damage without a shield, they will take damage to their HP. Losing all HP will result in a game over.

Beat Count: The Beat Count is represented by a flaming number under the UI. It increases whenever an attack hits its target but the flame will die out when the player stops attacking. By chaining together attacks, a higher beat count can be achieved, resulting a higher player score after clearing a stage.

Art Score: Art Scores can be earned by using executions, demolition shots, and other skills acquired from t he lab, excluding Storm Barrage. The player receives their achieved Art Score on the rewards screen after clearing a stage.

Navigation: The navigation arrow shows the player the direction of their next destination.

Lock On: Targets and only shoot at a locked-on target. The target can be changed or unlocked at any time.

Dodge: Evade enemy attacks.

Useful Tips of Gungrave G.O.R.E:

Orange enemies have a lot of health, but can be grabbed for a great shield or instant kill (you just toss them after grabbing).

Fury (both back triggers), Death Spear (charged shot), and reflected rockets can also break shields.

Don’t bother reflecting grenades. They throw them too frequently to gain momentum.

Remember finishing armored and rocket enemies pulls you towards them, so don’t bother if it ruins your position.

Orgmen are not that powerful, so just kite until they die.

Demolition Shots heal and offer invincibility frames, so don’t be afraid to use them.

Sword enemies can be stalled indefinitely by simply shooting them. They’re also extremely easy to kill by using a rocket, or charged shot, to knock them down and simply shooting them. When they’re not reflecting bullets, they can also be grabbed.

Leeches are extremely common in water.

Some levels, especially Vietnam, have mines scattered around. Either shoot them or fire a Death Blow to destroy them all.

Enemies typically appear on top of houses or ledges, so keep an eye out.

Rocket enemies and shooter Orgmen are two enemies you should always focus on first, followed by snipers, shotgunners, and then everything else.

Game runs like crap, voice acting is not great and the story is out there. But it's good mindless fun. You are Mick Mars and you shoot everything and kill everything. That's the whole game.Probably best played in bursts because it does get repetitive quickly.Cutscenes are short but fun to watch. Lots of fairly easy achievements. Tons of upgrades and special abilities. You can refund your points too so you can try out new stuff which is cool.Don't care for all the overpriced dlc. There's no extra costumes or weapon skins to play with either which is unfortunate.

game isn't in its best shape, there are a lot of nuances, but if you buy it at a discount and don't expect anything incredible, the game still brings some enjoyment, thrill from splitting enemies with banger music,cool style and a couple of nostalgic anime memories

This game feels like if you took just the shooting out of Devil May Cry, and combined it with the balls to the wall encounter shenanigans of Ninja Gaiden 2. While it doesn't quite live up to either its worth noting there's some familiarity here for fans of either of those games.Shooting is sublime, there's lots of it, and you feel like a character straight out of a John Woo movie just as you would expect. I would liken it almost to the first Uncharted where you're just running around guns blazing constantly the whole time. It feels amazing. Targeting is also surprisingly good, and rarely did I shoot an enemy that I didn't want.The melee combat.... eh not so much. Its floaty and often feels like your not hitting anything at all. While its serviceable playing as Graves, who you mainly play as, there is a part where you briefly play as a melee focused character where the game clearly falters.Combos and abilities are fairly competent for this kind of action game, but your demolition shots can feel a bit too powerful, especially the level 3s. They sort of balance themselves out with the scoring system, but some people may definitely feel that you can cheat the game by spamming these.

It's not a bad game, feels like old style FPS killing hordes of enemys from beginning of the game till the end of the game. The story line is far at best, but a playable game. I think of it more like an in between game, it's a game I play until one of my more desired game becomes available, etc.....It's likable, but not memorable, it's good when its on sale.
