Fate/Grand Order is a card-based role-playing game. Here, you will become a hero, summoning Servants to fight against fate. There are numerous Servants, each with their own strengths, skills, and weaknesses. You can freely summon them and organize them into battle. The game uses turn-based combat, giving you three actions per turn. You need to make good use of these opportunities to coordinate the abilities of different characters, unleashing powerful attacks. Note that only coordination is key to victory; individual heroism is insignificant here.

Background

In 2017 AD, Earth remains peaceful, but seemingly sensing that other planets will face the same fate, a special organization dedicated to carrying out secret missions—Chaldea—was established. Chaldea consists of a group of special members tasked with observing Earth's future. They discover signs that human history will come to a complete end in 2019, two years later.

This impending event has no apparent cause; no one can determine which individual, organization, or method will lead to this impending destruction.

In their desperate search for the root of future catastrophe, Chaldea discovers a remote Japanese town that appears on no observation map. This means the area has always been a mystery, never before observed. Chaldea believes this is the source of humanity's impending extinction, and thus initiates a large-scale experiment—time travel back to 2004 to study the region.

However, in any era, any method of time travel that alters the past is taboo. Chaldea circumvents this taboo by transforming its members into spirit particles—soulless entities—to transport adventurers to specific points in the past they wish to explore.

Here, the valiant members work together, intervening in various past events to uncover the cause of humanity's demise and attempt to destroy the corresponding spacetime singularity.

Fate/Grand Order tells the story of a group of unsung heroes who bravely sacrifice their lives to fight against history, alter the course of time, and fiercely battle fate to protect humanity's destiny.

Gameplay

At the start of the game, you first choose your character's gender and name. Then, you will travel to the past, and the story officially begins. Soon, you'll find yourself managing a special group of characters you can directly command, fighting alongside you; these are called Servants. Each Servant has unique skills, strengths, weaknesses, and personalities. Furthermore, many are familiar faces from previous installments in the series. As always, you can recruit most Servants through the gacha system. Characters like Camelot or Gilgamesh can only be obtained this way.

Fate/Grand Order battles are turn-based. Each turn requires you to complete three actions, and you should try to combine them to maximize synergy between different characters. For example, using three blue actions (Arts) will activate a special ability. Similarly, if the same Servant attacks three times in a row, it will unleash a powerful skill. Combining attacks and creating synergies is key to winning the toughest battles. Remember, you can temporarily recruit one character from other players during each battle.

Fate/Grand Order (English version) uses turn-based command cards to activate Quick, Arts, and Buster cards. Players need to build teams based on class advantages, such as Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker.
