Introduction

KAIJU NO. 8 is a role-playing game adapted from the anime. Players lead a defense force to battle various monsters, needing to strategically utilize the skills of different defense officers to break through the monsters' cores and win battles and rich rewards. The game features voice acting from numerous well-known voice actors, each character possessing their own skill sets and character models. As players spend more time with the defense officers, they will unlock their unique stories and voice lines. The game also offers various events and dungeons for players to challenge, participating to earn rich rewards to develop their characters and unleash even greater damage.

Features of KAIJU NO. 8:

Tactical battles with core exposure: You control a squad of four Defense Force officers, each with distinct skills. KAIJU NO. 8 uses a turn based system that rewards planning. Exposing a Kaiju core opens a window for an ultimate attack to close the fight, and simple inputs support quick decisions and combo chains.

Detailed 3D visuals and animation: Character actions are presented with clear motion and readable effects. Kafka Hibino’s punch, Soshiro Hoshina’s blades, and Kikoru Shinomiya’s ax are animated to show impact against large enemies. This visual approach helps you follow timing and skill cues without visual clutter.

Story modes for fans and newcomers: KAIJU NO. 8 APK includes an original main story, a Recollection mode for iconic scenes, and character stories that explore personal arcs. You can follow missions at your own pace, and switch between modes when you want a break from combat.

Full voice performances: Major characters feature voice acting from Masaya Fukunishi, Asami Seto, Wataru Katoh, Fairouz Ai, Kengo Kawanishi, and more. These performances match scenes and battles, giving you clear context for events and character moments.

Strategies of KAIJU NO. 8:

Your Ultimate Is An Extra Turn: Each time you deal damage to an enemy with a character, you'll fill the gauge for that unit's Ultimate. This is the character's most powerful attack, and you should be dealing heavy damage to all the monsters on the screen with it.Something that the game briefly explains is the fact that you can activate any character's Ultimate at almost any time (there are a few exceptions, just as if the battle starts and the enemy has the first turn). This is actually very important because it lets you win an extra turn, and depending on the context, you might prevent your enemies from attacking for a while.Let's suppose you have only one character left in the battle order before an enemy, and that enemy has two plates (armor, more about this in another tip). You would normally get hit if you can't defeat the creature with said character, but if you have one of your other units with their Ultimate ready, you can activate it before attacking with your current unit, and you'll gain an extra attack. That way, you'll deal more damage and also break the creature's armor.

Reroll Until You Get A Good Character: Something common in the gacha genre, you can reroll as soon as you unlock the gacha menu, meaning that you can start again if you didn't get any useful character. Instead of farming the currencies for future pulls, you delete your account and recover the currencies you get when you start. This is useful so you can secure a strong character from the very beginning.Don't forget that you have a one-time-only free Five-Star character from the Standard Banner. You could secure one of these and then focus on getting another one with all your available pulls. Going for Gen Narumi and Kaiju No. 8 would be good picks.

Kafka Transformed Into Kaiju No. 8 Is A Good Starter: As soon as you start the game, you'll get the protagonist of the series, Hibino Kafka, as a Four-Star character in your squad. In other games, you would normally abandon him for other secondary characters that look more interesting, but you would be making a mistake if you did that here.Unless you get four Five-Stars from the get-go (good luck doing that), you should definitely upgrade and enhance all of Kafka's stats and skills as much as you can. He's barely decent while he is in his human form, but when you activate his Ultimate and become Kaiju No. 8, you'll have a more than decent AOE attack and a great Ultimate against single enemies. It's a really good tank and DPS character in general for the first hours of the game.

Player Comments of KAIJU NO. 8:

As someone who doesn't know this anime, I got hooked right off the bat from the presentation, military style characters and combat, and legitimately interesting story with good voice acting. Hope to play this for a good while, but not sure how the mid-late game will be with repetition and gameplay variation.

I TRULY love this game! I enjoy the designs and expansion on what we could have had or some newer concepts to the series considering how short the manga/series is. I really enjoy every aspect of this game. Although I do have one complaint. I personally don't mind the wait for each chapter, however I don't like how hard it is to get a text chain or activate a special request. I wish we had more frequent ones that don't require so much effort to unlock. I just want more stories !

I love Kaiju No 8 and the game does not disappoint. While it is a gatcha type game and there are so many ways to earn free summons early on which definitely helps get into the game. The visuals, sounds, and graphics are awesome. The gameplay is solid and engaging. There is alot of detail and depth in the game along with alot of farming materials but once you get going it is not bad at all. One of the best anime mobile games out there by far!

Gameplay, story and voice acting are great! Love Kaiju No. 8! However, grabbing pulls for gacha is very grindy and not very free-2-play friendly, it's hard to grab Limited Tickets and the other gacha currency, weapon banners arent seperate banners and no pity system and 50/50. More bias with the standard banner than limited. Wouldnt reccomend to be your first gacha even if you love Kaiju No. 8, would reccomend for more experienced gacha players who love Kaiju No. 8 though!

Conclusion:

In Kaiju No. 8, you will find both settings and recognizable characters from the original anime. Helping protagonists like Kafka Hibino, you will endeavor to progress through every corner of a fictional Japan while defeating dozens of enemies. The Defense Force and Monster Sweeper Inc. members will try to use their best attacks through intense battles to protect the population from dark offensives that will endanger the human race.
