Netorare God; Netorase Devil is a casual game driven by story and player choices.  We've invested a great deal of time and effort into crafting a compelling story that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. The aim is to have complex and interesting characters that will slowly evolve and change over time, not the usual blushing maidens that are completely corrupted in mere minutes.

You're about to reincarnate into the world of Entayyare and live out your dreams of being the main character, just like all your favourite protagonists. But are you going to get the girls? (The answer will shock you.)

Changelog:

One of the systems that's been worked on for a long time is having better busts for characters during dialogue, in what we call conversation-type scenes, instead of the full artwork scenes, which are typically lewd and take up the full screen with the transparent dialogue box.

You have seen some of these animated busts during some of the newer updates as they've slowly been adding them in as they're completed, and soon the old scenes will also be updated to have these new animated busts, but it has honestly taken a lot longer than expected to create, animate, and implement.

The project scope has grown and shrunk over time as we narrow in on what's reasonable to do with the project, and we've gone through a number of iterations on how these busts were going to look.

Initially, when the project first started, we didn't have animated busts; we just had 5 different Bryans, each with a different expression and pose. I thought that since we were going to have a lot of characters with different outfits, it could result in having lots of files per character, which would ramp up the file size, and also felt restrictive in what expressions could be shown during conversations.

Originally there were 52 different combinations of Bryan's poses and expressions, which was almost 25 MBs just for one character with one outfit, not even a naked version.

So the next idea was what if all the busts were basically a hundred pieces that are then assembled at runtime when a conversation starts, and that way we can get a lot of mileage out of mixing and matching all those different pieces.

Comparatively, this is 4 MBs for Bryan and covers the clothed and naked versions.

This seemed like a good idea at the time, but it's clear I overshot on some things and made the system much more complex than it needed to be, as it caused a few problems, one of which is why it takes so long for scenes to get implemented.

Every dialogue line I have to update the bust for the speaking character, and the other characters are not speaking, as well as mixing and matching the bust for the context of the dialogue being said, which at this point I can memorize, but for the longest time I had to have a notepad file for each character on my other monitor to remember what each one was, such as "iris = 0," which meant the character was just looking straight ahead of them, whereas "iris = 2" meant they were looking down, or "iris = 4," which meant looking down and away, which was meant to portray guilt. 

I have been told this is not a great way of doing things; in fact, I think when I told the new programmer that was helping out with the project for the alchemy system stuff what I was doing, he called me insane, but hey, I was still quite new to RPG Maker and coding when I first started building this out, and even though I came up with better solutions at that point, I just kept going with it. 

So realizing this is a large reason why implementing scenes is so slow, I wanted to fix this situation for the new build, and that's where I decided on Live2D and Spine2D animated busts.

Naturally, the most obvious reason why is that they look much better visually, in my opinion, during gameplay, having these nice animated motions and expressions for characters, but on the back end the benefits are greater. 

The file size is greatly reduced, as it effectively works the same as how I was doing things before in that the character is cut into a hundred pieces and reassembled, but Live2D helps with the fiddling of all the dials, assembling a list of expressions.

So that I can create a standardized list of expressions that all characters will use, some might have some additional expressions, but there is at least this default list, which means when it comes to writing scenes, I or other writers know the available expressions to work with.

All in all, this system should be a lot more manageable and should be much quicker to implement scenes once they're created, as instead of having to remember and mix and match potentially 10 variables per character per dialogue line, I'm only having to manage 1 variable per character, each set to a specific expression of a list.

At this point pretty much all of the characters' busts have been created; however, not all of them have been animated, so unfortunately it's still a little while until we can implement them all into the new build.

So yeah, that's what I've been working on in the background while working on the writing and narrative planning, streamlining the system for character busts. I think in the next post I'll be showing off some of the maps, weather, and day/night system stuff that has never really been shown off except in the background.

The Crazy potential. The animations are insanely good and the concept is amazing ( letting you go an ntr route or an nts route depending on choices ). And for the people that don't like the ntr in the game JUST DONT PLAY GAMES WITH THE TAG. Other than that my Only gripe are the occasional bugs but that can be worked on in due time.

H: 5/5NTR goodness with a unique art style to boot, what more is there to ask for? Sides a bit more kinky shit going on in these scenes.Dialogue and.story: 4/5, now I just want to preface that the story isn't the best, as the original premise is a bit cliche, but the dialogue is funny enough in my opinion and serviceable.

One of the most visually appealing games on here! BUT I think there should be added a few scenes where the mc gets a bit fun too, otherwise its a bit tooooo much ntr for me and maybe others too. I mean its good and we know its an ntr game, but it would be more pleasing if we (the mc) get a bit rewarded too sometimes. My opinion.

The writing and art are absolute peak! But this is one of those games where just as you are getting super into it... BOOM! Content in development. I can't in good conscious gives this game a 5 star because it's only like 10% complete. The game basically ends as soon as character introductions are finished. You will get like 1 good scene that isn't just teasing. But I have to give it credit for being potentially the most promising project on this site. I hope it doesn't get trapped in development hell.

Art looks great, kinda reminds me of Hachijuu, sprites are hot, NTR story done good. I am looking forward for more content. But i noticed the game first came out 1,5 years ago, the development seems to be slow. This 4 star i give it is because of its potential. As of right now the game has like 12+ scenes and it is really buggy to a point where you have to have multiple saves just to be safe, which still didnt work for me and i found myself stoped by a game breaking bug. The names of the scenes are ending with either begin or finish. When you make all the variables with ending "finish" true they will be unlocked in memories. To find memories go to bed. If you want to get off, the current content will help you 1 2 times.
