No, I'm not a Human is a popular horror survival game where players are placed in a post-apocalyptic world teeming with fake humans and charred corpses. Players can only survive in one shelter, and must decide whether to allow those seeking refuge to enter. Players will need to ask them various questions and analyze potentially misleading clues from television broadcasts. Can you accurately distinguish between real and fake humans? As the game progresses, players will face more challenges. If you detect a fake human, don't hesitate to shoot them immediately to ensure your survival.

Gameplay of No, I'm not a Human:

The game takes place in a world where solar activity is dramatically increasing, triggering catastrophic global warming. The player takes on the role of an unnamed male protagonist who lives in a house on the outskirts of a town. Every night, people knock on the door asking for shelter from the daytime heat, and the player must decide whether to allow them inside. The player must shelter at least one human guest to avoid being overwhelmed and killed by the predatory "Visitors", hostile beings who have begun appearing from underground and mimic humans.

The game has elements of both 2D and 3D graphics. During the day, the player can speak with house guests and examine them for signs that may indicate whether they are human or a Visitor. A new physical trait that can be used to identify Visitors is revealed each day through a television broadcast. These traits are usually circumstantial in nature and include but aren't limited to flawless white teeth, dirt under the fingernails, and bloodshot eyes. Visitors may not exhibit every trait, humans may exhibit some of the traits, and house guests do not always consent to being examined.

Each playthrough randomizes most characters between being identified as Visitors or humans, but there are a select few characters who are always human or always a Visitor. This is a deliberate design choice by the developers intended to invoke a sense of fear in the player.There are also other types of people who visit at night, such as the "Intruder" (depicted in the game's key art and based on Cormac McCarthy's Judge Holden) who will force his way into the house if the player is living alone. The player has a finite amount of "energy" each day, and in order to end the day phase, all energy points must be spent. This can be done by examining specific body parts of guests or themselves for Visitor traits, or by drinking beer to pass time. If the player needs more energy, they can order EnerJeka, a fictional energy drink, from a product delivery company called ForRest.

If there are many guests in the house, the player may not be able to examine them all each day. After each examination, the player is prompted to either kill the guest with a shotgun or listen to them explain why they shouldn't be killed. Sometimes there are direct consequences for killing humans by mistake, unlocking a possible ending. If two or more Visitors are in the house and are not killed, however, they will kill random human guests while the player sleeps.

Having two guests in the house doesn't seem to trigger a Visitor to kill the other, since this would give away that they are indeed a Visitor being the only one left in the house. Though I am not 100% certain on this yet. It makes sense, so you could use this to your advantage when expecting FEMA to show up soon.

Killing three visitors with your gun seems to sometimes trigger an event where you kill everyone in the house for one night. every. one.

Give FEMA orders to anyone who you're unsure about or dislike. The next time FEMA comes to take someone, they will take the ones with the FEMA orders.

Visitors can sometimes skip days without killing anyone. Simply thinking "oh, noone died tonight so that means everyone is innocent" is not viable. Some guests can be either innocent or a visitor. There are many factors that can play into this. How many people are in the house? how many visitors? A visitor may not attack immediately for this reason.

Without spoiling anything, to get one of the secret endings you must allow every person into your house for 6 days straight. You can kill them if you suspect they are a Visitor. You will receive something on day 7 that will go to your bedroom. The rest is for you to figure out.

When showing the Vigilante evidence that you're innocent, start with your hands and make sure your eyes are good for when he comes back soon.

Click on the TV after the news for sure in the first few days. You unlock the number to call for grocery delivery which changes every run. If you have the cat, you can buy two cans of cat food. When feeding the cat, you essentially give everyone invincibility for one night. This could most likely also be used when you know you're going to turn into a Visitor that night, after killing a handful of Visitors already. Not tested.

I don't think I finished this game. It just stopped pretending to be one. At first, No, I'm Not a Human felt like another paranoia simulator. Check faces. Watch for mistakes. Decide who gets inside. Simple enough. But somewhere between the third night and the fourth, I stopped making choices because I understood the rules—I made them because I was afraid the game was learning how I thought. Every knock at the door felt personal. Every stranger looked almost right. Every mistake lingered longer than it should have. I caught myself staring at my own reflection after closing the game, trying to remember if my eyes always looked like that. The worst part isn't the horror. It's the silence after. The way the menu waits. The way the music sounds less like a soundtrack and more like something leaking through the walls. It feels like the game isn't asking whether the people outside are human. It's asking whether you are. I don't know if I beat it. I only know that when I quit, it felt less like leaving and more like being allowed to go. If someone knocks tonight, don't answer too quickly. And if they tell you they're human... don't ask them to prove it.

As someone who has 46.1 hours on this game... I think its safe to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. From the story or lore, to the character design and movement along with the various endings and dialogue options there is SO much love and time poured into No Im Not A Human. The art style I find to be the most rememberable part of the game, every character looks... odd? but in a good way. There is nobody who looks "normal". There are about 41 characters and each has their own individual personality, look, and backstory its awesome. I do have one piece of criticism which would be how uniquely hard it is to meet every character and get every character based achievement because of this. Aside from a select handful of characters, your chances of who comes to the door and rather or not they are human is randomized and supposedly even. Some characters only start showing up after a certain amount of days as well, which you wouldn't know or figure out without googling it. Personally Ive experienced getting both the lumberjack and the man with bad skin the most, ive only seen the coat guy since the "usual suspects" update about 4 times in my mirage of save scumming, I think there has to be an unspoken rarity for certain characters, considering I have only seen the soda hat guy ONCE, EVER. I wish the system for the game more so favored characters you havent seen in a long time or at all over ones you've already met a couple of times. I also have a slight gripe with the fact that youre dialogue response only matters sometimes, choosing to be rude or kind or cowardly only matters for certain achievements or events rarely does how you talk to people ever bite you in the ass which is a little underwhelming. Aside from those two things I dont have a lot of genuine criticism more so suggestions, more sounds ques for simple things like opening doors, creaky floors, talking to people would add to engagement. The soundtrack is great but I wish there were just more? Sometimes you can hear who you let in through the respective room doors and more of things like that would be great. Overall 9/10 game, achievement hunting can be a pain in the ass and time consuming but I digress.

I think this game is amazing. Some of the mechanics initially reminded me of Papers, Please, but it quickly establishes its own identity and never feels derivative. Every decision feels meaningful, and the constant uncertainty creates an incredible sense of tension and paranoia.What really impressed me was how seamlessly the gameplay and storytelling work together. This is one of those rare games that reminds me why video games are an art form. It doesn't just tell a story; it makes you experience it in a way that only an interactive medium can.
