Words of Baba Is You:

YOU: Something that exists on the board has to be YOU or you fail the level. Examples: BABA IS YOU, WALL IS YOU, LEAF IS YOU, etc.

WIN: Either YOU have to stand on whichever item is WIN or whichever item you are has to also be WIN. This is how you clear a level. Examples: BABA IS YOU and FLAG IS WIN — stand on the flag to win. Or BABA IS YOU AND BABA IS WIN.

PUSH: This means the object can be pushed. Example: If ROCK IS PUSH, you can push rocks.

STOP: This item prevents you from moving yourself or anything else through it. Example: If WALL IS STOP, you can’t go through walls or push any words or other objects through it.

SINK: Touching an item that’s SINK will make both you and it disappear. Examples: WATER IS SINK — If you touch water, you will both disappear. Or if BABA IS SINK, anything you touch will cause both of you to disappear.

DEFEAT: If you touch this item, you disappear. If there was only one of you, you also fail the level. Example: If SKULL IS DEFEAT, then you’ll die when you touch a skull.

HOT & MELT: If something is HOT, then it destroys things that are MELT. Example: If BABA IS MELT and LAVA IS HOT and Baba touches lava, he disappears.

MOVE: This makes an object move on its own in the direction it’s facing. If it hits an obstacle, it will turn around and walk the other way. You can make it move without you by pressing the spacebar (or A on Switch) to wait. Paired with YOU, it makes you do a double-move that allows you to walk over thinks that normally would kill you. Example: If KEKE IS MOVE, then Keke will walk on its own as you move or as you wait.

SHUT & OPEN: If something is SHUT, it will disappear when something that is OPEN touches it, and so will the other object. Usually SHUT comes with STOP, but pay close attention, as SHUT on its own doesn’t stop you. Example: If DOOR IS SHUT and KEY IS OPEN, then pushing the key onto the door will make both the door and key disappear.

RED & BLUE: These just change the color of the object. Example: If ROSE IS RED, the roses will all be red.

FLOAT: Floating objects can interact with each other but not non-floating objects. Text seems to have different behavior only in that non-floating Baba can still interact with floating text and vice versa. Examples: If BABA IS FLOAT, then Baba can float over any objects that aren’t.

Strategies of Baba Is You:

Push Me, Pull You: Things can only be pushed or pulled if those terms are attached to their nouns. If you need something to become intangible, keep that in mind.

I Am Everywhere: You can control more than one object, or item type, at a time.

Moving Day: MOVE is an incredibly powerful term. Any term it is attached to will move on its own, in whatever direction it was facing when the phrase was created. Set it up, then watch it go.

Be The Win: If YOU and WIN are attached to the same object, you’ll instantly complete the level.

Making A Workhorse: PUSH, PULL and MOVE can be combined to create other agents of change in a level. Play your cards right and they can do a lot of work for you.

Open Sesame: You don’t need Keys to open a door. Anything with the OPEN tag can be used to open something which is locked.

When In Doubt, Koolaid Man: Speaking of locked doors, anything can be opened if it has the CLOSED tag. Keys, and other OPEN items, can be used to open anything from walls to bricks to… well, anything.

I Can HAS Cheezburger: Items which have the HAS term attached can hide other items inside. You can create truly powerful nested item sequences which can allow you to break the rules and create unique win conditions.

One of the most inventive games I have ever played. Any puzzle fan, especially if you have any background in logic, systems or programming, should play this game. It will challenge and thrill you in ways that are so far outside the box that it's difficult to describe. Less than 24 hours after buying it here I also bought it on the Switch for my kids. They love it too!

Fantastic game. No ads, no in-app purchases. The controls are great the puzzles are fantastic. If all mobile games were like this, phone games would have a much better reputation Also, one review said that the rules weren't consistent but they are, I think they might have misunderstood. I haven't ran into any issue yet and I played all day.

Easily one of the best puzzle games ever made, now on mobile! If you like puzzle games this is a must play. The one thing that's missing is a more convenient way to "wait;" there's 2 instant ways to undo (button and double press) but no instant wait. It's not a big issue but some levels require you to move 1 turn, wait 1 turn, etc. and it's easy to wait too many turns since you have to wait a half-second for the command to start, then it does "wait" turns quickly. Still, great game; a must play!

This is the greatest puzzle game ever made. There are hundreds of clever tricks you work out as you go through the levels. Each new level has an interesting twist or idea on a mechanic. There is nothing that ever feels hidden or unfair, because the rules are always right there in front of you.
