Strategies of Glory of Generals 3 Mod:

As you probably noticed, there are 5 types of damage in this game: infantry, tank, artillery, naval and air. Axis generals cannot fight on the allied side and allied generals cannot fight for the axis, so we basically need to create 2 different teams.

It's important that we get generals that are specialised for one type of unit.

When shopping for the best general in any category there is usually one that is better than anybody else. There are good, but expensive generals, ok but relatively cheap generals, bad and cheap generals and bad and expensive. We want to get generals from the first 2 categories only.

The best units in the game are the tanks and artillery so you should prioritise those generals. Naval and air are important in the pacific campaigns but are otherwise a non issue. Keep in mind that as you unlock new campaigns you will get some free generals: Model, Chuikov, Timoshenko on Eastern front; Ozawa and Arnold in Pacific; Ricardi and Alexandrer in North Africa.

In general, the axis campaign is more difficult, but they also get better generals and special forces, so I recommend investing medals into an axis general, either Leeb for artillery or Rommel/Guderian for tanks.

My advice is to build your generals team by getting the following:

Axis: both Rommel and Guderian for tanks, Leeb for artillery, Donitz for naval, Yamamoto for air/naval. I don't find an infantry general needed, but both Yamashita and Rudnstedt are ok. Stay away from Nagumo, he is not that good

Allies: Patton is good for tanks, Vatutin is a good choice as well, Govorov for artillery, Nimitz for naval and Halsey for air/naval. For infantry, MacArthur is great, but way too expensive, Slim is good and cheap. Stay away from De Gaule, Dowding, Mountenbatten, Vasilievsky they are expensive and bad.

For special forces, ignore armored cars, engineers and mortars. Focus on assault infantry, anti tank infantry, but most important, tanks and field artillery.

As for gameplay, try to keep your army in one place and plan a route to get from objective to objective. Put your units in good terrain such as forests and cities as you get extra damage reduction. Understand what your generals excel at and play to their strenghts (for example, Bock is great for expensive field artillery, keeping him on plains for extra damage).

Get the most importand special forces first in each battle (tanks, field artillery).

Look at reinforcenments and plan what you want to purchase so you dont waste resources.

Awesome! The game is the best of the best WWII Strategy Game! I downloaded it and played, I can play for hours! The graphics are gooood! But if you can have diplomatic relations, and maybe other global wars, it should be the best strategy game ever! Love it!!!

It's an amazing game, the supply and army group is amazing and the campaign isn't as hard as previous games. But not being able to move troops through allies in army group is annoying, there are too few scenarios in army group, and you can't stack ships. In Conquest mode it just takes too long to get to the next turn. The AI is completely garbage at times.

I love it! Finally this is the best strategy game i know! How about making the game more realistic for example, when a commander/general's unit is destroyed, the commander can transfer to another unit but he can be killed or captured. morale and unit ranks too like for example, when a unit is trapped by the enemy, mercenaries may switch sides and join the enemy, but veterans fight to the last man.

Great game overall. Updated generals and special units are great additions. The campaign is challenging just the right way. Challenge mode is pretty fun. Army group is good. United Front can be a bit iffy but still mostly fun. Graphics are also nice. Conquest mode is a boring slog. Not worth the effort. The Fleet section is terrible. Much worse than in the older games. Ships blocking movement. Hard to tell fire ranges. No substance, little tactics. The more ships win. Disappointing.
