Strategies of Kingdom Rush Origins:

Every level has one or more choke point - an area where the enemy is funneled through and is more open to attack, usually because of the environment around them. Figure each of them out and focus on using it to your advantage.

One good way of using a choke point to your advantage is to create a blockade of an archer tower along with a melee tower.

Archers are good at dishing out the damage but they’re too easy to get away from on their own. Combine them with a melee tower, however, and the ground troops slow the enemy down, enabling your archers to pick them off.

Make sure you move the ground troops’ rally points to a place that means they adequately cover such areas.

Thin out crowds of enemies. It’s too easy to miss a few when they're in a pack, but once a pack is thinned out they’re much easier to take out.

Use special abilities such as lightning bolts to take out large groups quickly. Even if some are just weakened, it’ll make life much easier later on.

Place the highest upgraded towers at the end of the level. Enemies will be weaker by then and your strong towers should be able to finish them off easily.

Another option is to use your hero near the end of each stage to take out what’s left, but you might find the hero standing around not doing much early on.

The hero is your main source of interaction, so for the sake of your enjoyment as well as picking off enemies fast, keep them moving around.

Practice makes perfect. You can stumble to success early on, but soon enough you’re going to have to accept that your first go on a new stage is a trial run. Don’t worry about it.

Out of every KR title, this one holds the Champion belt. It has the best combination of traits out of all of them- nostalgia, strategy, difficulty, variety and story! Unlike its successive titles, you do not need to purchase any towers, imagine that, a tower defense game where the towers are still free! The heroes present are all useful and can stand on their own, and mesh well with the choice of towers made available to you. This is what Kingdom Rush was, and always should have been!

The prequel story- before the next one comes out anyways. Oh origins- Among the current ones this far is just romantic! The gorgeous designs, the heroes, backgrounds except the towers it lacked a bit but I'll give it a pass cause this game is just a work of art! You're not playing this cause its a tower defense-NO! You are playing this cause you are a Cultured Man! So get this and you wont regret it! Sadly the mini campaign lacked a oomph but it ranks 2nd for me cause its just close to my heart.

So it's a dollar to buy the game. I've been playing tower defense games since warcraft 3 and this game does really well for the price point and the experience. The game could use more tower diversity, but the good news is that the only benefit to having the 'option' to buy gems is that you can buy items which can be accrued normally through decent game play, not, 'your building will be upgraded in six hours'. Overall fun and a good tower defense game all things considered.

If you enjoy tower defense games where you have to stay busy during the attack phase then you'll really enjoy this game. It's exciting rather than relaxing (it's not a "set it and forget it' type of tower defense game). You have to stay busy during the attack, there's lots of strategy involved, and there are different approaches you can take to solving each attack depending on your playstyle. You can upgrade both heroes and towers with different skills. I will be replaying this many times.
