Houses provide population, which is required to build other buildings, and gold. Production buildings provide supplies. Goods can be produced by dedicated buildings. Decorations and cultural buildings provide an amount of happiness, that should meet the requirement of the existing population. Forge points are used to advance through the technology tree, and recharge over time. Each new era provides new buildings of each type, and sometimes new gameplay mechanics.

Take your time: The fastest I have run through a world was EMA in 14 days. While you can get away with doing that no problem, the more you research, and the more ages you pass through, the less you'll be ready. So take your time. An average pace is 10 days to get to Iron age. 1 month to get to Early Middle age. 2 months to get to High Middle age. 4 months to get to Late Middle age. After LMA, add 2-3 months per age, plus 1 month to gather the resources (coins and supplies) to set up for the next age.

Build a strong army: Building a strong army is ideal. You can use an army for:Plundering other players (your neighborhood),Protecting your city from plunderers,Conquering sectors on the continent map,Completing Encounters in Guild Expedition,Fighting in Guild Battlegrounds,Fighting in PvP (Beta),Event quests,After purchasing a Military building using coins and supplies or Diamonds, and after recruiting a unit, assign some units to your defending army. Ideally, use 8 units, and use units with high defence rating. Some Great Buildings and regular buildings offer defence boosts for your units.

Save your diamonds: This one sounds self explanatory. But let's face it. The game is really good at getting you to spend Diamonds. If you spend your Diamonds willy nilly, and you aren't willing to drop some real cash to replenish your stock, then those Diamonds are going to disappear, and they will be gone fast.So save those Diamonds, because they are useful for unlocking Blueprints for Great Buildings, and during some Events, you can use your Diamonds to get some really cool things.

Make friends: The best way to have fun playing Forge of Empires is by making friends. By accessing the chat, you can find friends by simply talking. Introduce yourself, and be polite. If you don't wish to chat, you can simple open the Find Friends popup, and type in players names, or add the friend suggestions the system gives you. This is refreshed daily, so check it often if you are in need or want of some new friends.Another great and easy way to gain friends is by accessing your neighborhood. This is a great place to plunder, aid, snipe Great Buildings, or make friends.

Easy to play. Very addictive. Game moves as fast or as slow as you do; the pace adapts well for both casual or serious players. You can play on desktop or mobile interchangeably! Developers are very much a part of the community; constantly improving the game and running events. It's F2P and holds true there. There's no P2W element. I spent a few $ because I wanted to support the game as I've been enjoying it throughly. Edit: there are optional ads but not as intrusive as I first thought.

I will say that this game is very great for me. I once saw its ad so frequently that I downloaded it in frustration to see what this was about. But once I played this game, it made me really addicted to it. But I have a little request. I always wanted to customize the skin of troops that I have. Take an example of the colonisaera. The musketeer are setted on default old Spanish troop. I was thinking that we should get to customize it according to us. Pls add optional customisation for troops.

it is not pay to win and is fun to play. my only issue is that despite it letting you grow as fast as you are willing to, once you get to Arctic future and with the introduction of promethium, it purposely slows you down and it has killed my momentum. But overall it is a great game. Update: they fixed it by adding Promethium to the map section.
