Introduction
Oceanhorn is an ocean-themed adventure game where players embark on a voyage to find their missing father. Players will master mysterious magical powers, explore uncharted waters, encounter various monsters, and use different spells to defeat them, earning rich rewards to upgrade their ship and magic. As the game progresses, players will not only unravel mysteries and find hidden treasures but also gradually uncover the secrets of an ancient kingdom and the world by combining clues. The game also supports gamepad controls, allowing players to freely adjust the button mappings for a comfortable gaming experience.
Features of Oceanhorn:
The game features customizable graphics settings, allowing players to adjust visual elements based on their device's capabilities. This flexibility ensures smooth gameplay for a wider range of Android devices, provided they meet the minimum requirement of 1GB RAM. Additionally, the touch controls are designed to be intuitive and responsive, facilitating a seamless interaction with the game environment.
Oceanhorn is enriched by its soundtrack, composed by notable figures in the video game music industry, including Nobuo Uematsu and Kenji Ito. Their contributions add depth and ambiance to the gaming experience, enhancing the emotional engagement of players as they navigate through various scenarios.
Throughout the game, players encounter numerous challenges that test their skills and problem-solving abilities. The gameplay mechanics are designed to encourage exploration, with each island presenting different themes and obstacles. As players traverse these environments, they can expect to engage in battles, uncover hidden paths, and solve intricate puzzles that contribute to the overarching storyline.
In terms of achievements, Oceanhorn integrates Game Services, allowing players to track their progress and accomplishments within the game. This feature adds a layer of motivation for players seeking to complete all objectives and explore every aspect of the game. The inclusion of achievements can foster a sense of accomplishment as players strive to master the various challenges presented.

Highlights of Oceanhorn:
Oceanhorn’s plot has many thrilling yet straightforward developments as it deals with change or apocalypse of the world coming from the seabed creatures. Based on those circumstances, players must build their journey, meet new people, search for items, and delve into the ruins. Besides, the battles with bosses are always epic and will open up much new progress throughout the arduous but important fate of the player.
The world is developed in an endless but straightforward way to keep players moving or find secrets around them. In it, each location appears on vast islands in the middle of a vast ocean, and players will have to move through the overworld to unveil the mysteries constantly. Depending on the player’s progress, the world will also undergo many changes to either realize the environment or diversify everyone’s experience.
The combat mechanism in Oceanhorn is also uncomplicated and friendly. Still, the most important thing is the player’s interaction with the environment to solve it or open up a new path. Everything is lovely and dynamic, and players can even use creative items or weapons to destroy monsters or activate mechanisms. Thanks to that exciting control element, the journey will have a lot of entertainment potential while opening many new concepts to the role-playing adventure genre.
A familiar feature of the adventure genre is that it gradually unlocks new functions for the player through special items or powers. Players now have to constantly explore the ruins, gather power-ups, and ultimately use them for a noble cause and protect the world from darkness. On top of that, they can take advantage of them in combat against certain enemies while making the battle more exciting than ever.

Useful Tips of Oceanhorn:
Oceanhorn is an action/adventure puzzle game in the vein of The Legend of Zelda. Most of the gameplay involves moving the hero around the world, battling enemies, solving puzzles, and collecting treasures.
To move the hero, simply hold your thumb/finger down on the screen, sliding slightly in the direction you want to move. You can also single-tap where you’d like to go and the hero will run there.
To attack or interact with an object, press the large, red action button. This button is contextual; by default, it will attack. If the hero is standing next to an interactive object—like a pot or person—it will interact instead—like picking up the pot or talking to the person. Some interactive areas are marked with a matching red button to indicate they are interactive.
In addition to your sword, you can have a secondary item equipped. In the image above, the secondary item is a shield.
To use the secondary item, press its smaller button near the action button. What you do after this depends on what is equipped. For instance: for the shield, tapping once will block quickly, or holding the button will make the hero block until you let go. For bombs, tapping the secondary button will bring out an active bomb, and tapping the action button will throw or drop it. For arrows, you can shoot a quick shot by tapping or you can aim and shoot by holding and then releasing the secondary button.
To change your secondary item, tap the gray “Item” button and select what you’d like to equip.
You can edit the button layout via the menu to support left- or right-handed playing, as well as display a virtual joystick.
In addition to the on-screen action buttons, much of the information you need during your journey is always visible.
Your hero has a limited amount of stamina, which is used for various actions. Swimming in rough (ocean) water and blocking with the shield are two examples. When performing these actions, a small green bar will appear on the hero and deplete as he continues doing them. Running out of stamina means he cannot perform that action until it recharges (in the case of swimming, it means he drowns and respawns nearby). Once he stops swimming, blocking, etc. this gauge will disappear and recharge.
You will not be able to achieve 100% on every island the first time you visit it. As the story progresses, our hero unlocks additional items and abilities that will allow him to reach previously unreachable areas. If a treasure or area seems completely inaccessible, try coming back later.
Challenges are tied to a specific island for completion, but can be completed on any island. For instance, “Read 10 signs” will contribute completion score to Hermit’s Island, but you can read those signs anywhere.
Don’t skip over dialogue without reading it. Many goals and destinations in Oceanhorn are revealed when speaking to other characters, and there is no “current goal” hint. If you are unsure what to do next, try talking to characters on the current island.

Player Comments of Oceanhorn:
This game is a simplified yet also unique take on 'The Legend of Zelda' series. The demo was rather fitting for an intro/trial, but was literally only less than a quarter of the full experience of the game. The puzzles are more quizzical and challenging—something that you'd expect from 'God of War' or even 'Darksiders' series. On the other hand, the boss fights, including the items that you will receive, have given some justice to the price of the game when paid in full. TLDR: It's a great game!
Easily the most fun I've had playing a mobile game recently. The controls on a phone touch screen were a little clunky at times, but less so than most similar games. Also had a few issues with hitting the paywall despite having already bought the full game, but was able to resolve them by restarting a few times. Overall a great mobile game, especially for fans of Zelda games (this is basically an off-brand version)
You can't find a Nintendo switch, this is the game for you. I wanted to buy a switch for to COVID 19 and they're all sold out. Just wanted to play something that's not standard Android/iPhone garbage. I searched for Bastion (amazing game for console... Amazing) and Oceanhorn popped up. I'm hooked. Normally I cannot stand cellphone games cause they're limited. This game is it. Graphics are solid. Gameplay is great, controls are good (I'm not playing with a controller), and it's RPG. Buy it!!!
This game deserves so much more love than it gets. I'm not sure why it's rated so low, seeing as how nobody seems to have a good reason for that. The exploration is wonderful on each unique island, progression is smooth, albeit one island towards the end that got me turned around a few too many times, and the story is simple yet sweet. Mechanics are satisfying, bosses are difficult but rewarding. Full experience right here. Give the game a chance, people.
Final Thoughts:
Oceanhorn is suitable for players who like fantasy adventures with puzzles, combat, offline access, and a clear story path. It works well for casual gamers, younger adventure fans, and anyone who wants a Zelda-like mobile game with simple controls and a light challenge. It is most useful when you want a relaxing solo game that still gives your brain a small workout.
