Rogue with the Dead is a roleplaying game that blends Roguelike elements. Players will assemble and lead their army to fight against the Demon King. Along the way, you'll encounter hordes of monsters that you must defeat to earn gold, strengthen your army, and recruit more professional soldiers to fight for you. Your soldiers will fight automatically; players don't need to spend time deploying troops, and even if the player leaves the game, their soldiers will continue to kill monsters and earn you a lot of gold. However, be aware that once a player dies, they will lose all soldiers, gold, and upgrades, and you will have to start over. Due to the Roguelike elements, each restart will offer completely different items and enemies, adding to the game's replayability.

Just waiting on the update and want to say this is a peak idle game. Easy to play actively or just check in on throughout the day and the graphics are beautiful. I did end up snagging noads on sale but to be clear it is not required and only gives you things quicker, not an outright advantage. With idle games being a war of attrition rather than a sprint it's no issue to play for free at all if that's your move. 10/10, absolutely recommend.

I hugely dislike idle games, but something about the flow of this one is perfect. It regularly disrupts the "idle" normal flow by allowing you to actively play, explore, and upgrade your troops. It also has a great sense of mystery and progression, so it always feels like there is plenty to unlock or find. Impressive all around and some generous free items via daily logins.

Very fun game! Can actively play and earn income while idle. Has both permanent and temporary upgrades available. RPG style, so you grow stronger every play through. Ads aren't intrusive. The game keeps giving you plenty of content. there is lots to do if sought and a lot of customization available.

it's charmingly stupid and I love it. I only hope that it keeps the same momentum as I continue to play. ( 100+ hours in ): the game is very generous and keeps your attention. I actually choked up during one of the story mode cutscenes. this games a diamond in the rough. I had no idea how long it's been in development for. but it is fantastic, with or without paying for anything.

FAQs of Rogue with the Dead:

I just started what troops should I get first? 

The first unit you'll want to grab is Crossbowmen they'll add more diamonds per crossbowmen dispatch when you return along with leveling there Trap and Poison Needle ability will help a bit with getting a bit farther. Then get Cavalrymen level Tresure Hunt for extra chest per a return. Then aim for Princess Knight as she'll be doing most of the damage. When you beat mile 300 and are able to unlock Forbidden Guardians unlock mile 150 and try to get Thunderbolt Wolves as they most likely be used for everything in this game.

How do I open Hard/Elly mode? 

Beat normal I won’t spoil how far that is but you’ll know when you finish Normal. Hard mode has green chests and the artifacts from them are multiplicative. I don’t recommend trying hard mode till you can easily farm normal.

What’s the best way to play? 

Depends, play the game however you enjoy it but if you want to min max the game only have Princess knight, cavalrymen and Thunder Wolf (Forbidden Guardian drop) in your gatcha pool level them along with your warcry and haste as far as you can then use them. After they fall off return and repeat. Getting artifacts in this game is your main source of power.

What’s Meta? 

Each mode has its current meta for farming. Normal you just want speed you can even push it a bit further on speed if you get an Assassin Einherjar and just only put points into speed they’ll skip portals make your run over all way faster. Hard Speed is still key but you can’t skip portals as often as you can in normal the portals spawn more enemy’s and they’re quicker as well. You’ll want aoe with speed to move up to the portal as soon as they spawn and just one shot the group and move to the next portal. Ancient same as hard mode with the amount but now enemy’s have guard stacks meaning you can’t deal damage to them till you remove the stacks. Speedy units with aoe to brake down guard stacks asap to move on. Below I’ll list good units and good times to aim for on speed runs. (All times are based on one use of Warcry and Haste and rounded to the nearest minute)
