I have been using this app for over a year now and I love it. It's planning made easy, but I must confess, I'm still learning how much more this app can do. If you're on the fence about using this app, do it! You won't regret it.

Good app. I did have issues installing it on multiple devices, mainly my phone and my tablet, but I logged out of Google and back in again and got it working. Now to learn how best to use it and plan some trips. Addendum: I took my first milky way pictures last weekend thanks to Photo Pills and they came out rather well. Now planning my next trip on the weekend, assuming the clouds leave the sky.

Been looking for a photo app for a while that pretty much does it all. And this is the one. So many wonderful features, especially for landscape photographers. So much of making a good landscape image is about planning and being able to imagine what the shot will look like before you take it. This app contains all the planning tools you'll need to capture your perfect shot. Love the milky way augmented reality. It's a game changer.

This App is fantastic, and a time saver for planning extraordinary moon, and star photography. There is quite a learning curve though, so if you are a grab and go kind of person, this may lend to some frustration for you. Luckily there are plenty of excellet tutorial videos from the developer and other photographers. What would add to the magic is if this App were accessible on Windows desktop. It is much easier to plan an event on a larger screen. Photopills, can you make that happen?

Is my camera supported by PhotoPills?

PhotoPills includes more than 2000 camera models. If you cannot find yours in the list, just send us your camera model via info@photopills.com and we'll add it in the next update. In the meanwhile, PhotoPills allows you to create your own personalized camera. Add your own camera by tapping on the "+" icon you see at the top right-hand corner of the camera list screen. You'll find it in the camera selector within Camera in Settings (menu My Stuff) and the following photography calculators: Depth of Field, Hyperfocal Table, DoF table, Field of View, Subject Distance, Focal Length Match and Spot Stars.  

How can I enable PhotoPills' Widgets?

PhotoPills’ widgets not only give you all the main Sun, Moon and Milky Way events for the current date, but also all the upcoming photo plans you’ve saved. Therefore, to have a quick look at all the fresh daily information, you won’t even need to go to PhotoPills app. All you have to do is to enable the three PhotoPills’ widgets: PhotoPills (Sun and Moon), PhotoPills Night and PhotoPills Plans.

The Augmented Reality seems not to work properly, what’s happening?

Make sure you are away from any electronic device, metal object or magnetic field because they may interfere with the sensors of the device. We recommend you to shake your device and wait a few seconds to let the system become stable. We've seen that the sensors of your device work better when you use it in landscape mode.Quality of the information displayed in the AR view is good enough to work, but it strongly depends on the limitations of the sensors of your device (GPS, Accelerometer, Gyroscope). This is an issue we cannot control but, as technology advances, manufacturers improve the quality of sensors too.
