This game is really fun! It's got more than a few things going for it!The aesthetic of comics and jazz work really well with this setting, which works doubly well for a detective game. The fact this is set in New York to me, call to mind old big city detective stories, with a more lively, and silly, modern spin on it.The UI design also is very fun and adds a good bit of charm to the sleuthing segments of the game. Although I will say the menu for traveling from one area to another has just one too many clicks to it. You gotta click 'MOVE', then click the circle on the map you want to go to. Then after waiting a sec for the area teaser to pop up, either click 'GO' or back out. The map also, while a neat nod to show off where everything is, is also a little sterile and kinda uninteresting to look at, although I get why that may be the case.The character writing is really strong, Howie is a great protagonist with surprising amount of flavor off the bat. I was impressed to see the professions of the cast really help bolster the feeling of having the setting feel alive, what with them being active in their communities. Only exception to that being Ethan, though that's probably because we haven't see him out of his shifts yet. I especially appreciate leaning into the history of baseball and its cultural importance and touching on current issues like sports gambling. Definitely made the world feel more active, and this is just a small piece of the city.And yes, this game is pretty funny. I wasn't doubled over dying from laughter, but this book, especially Howie's commentary and Wyatt, got me chuckling a good few times. Also Sam. She's golden.I'm a little iffy on the the cliffhanger this Episode ends on. I suppose I was anticipating something a little less grounded in realism. So having the reveal leaves some cause for alarm as to where this game is gonna go. It also recontextualizes Wyatt's reoccurring gag. Though even now, I wonder how intentional the effect of the reveal was supposed to be, serving as juxtaposition for the tone of the game as a whole. If so, splendid job. Ya played me.All in all, aside from some gripes, I really enjoyed my time with this game. Really looking forward to what's in store next.

WHODUNNIT debuts with its first episode with, in my opinion, quite a sprint! A compelling mystery where both detective and mystery are one in the same. Combined with a more lax premise of simply trying to find who you doinked in a party rather than uncovering the secrets of a grizzly murder, visuals and aesthetics that lend a hand to the already amazing writing, and characters so unbelievably charming in their own rights that you almost feel like you're a part of their conversations like a newbie trying to mingle; It all stews up into a great experience that I already fell in love with from the moment my partner and I read its dialogue aloud with impressions of trying to be voice actors that we're not.

BRO YOU CANT JUST END THE CHAPTER LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!Genuinely really fun story so far. Character dialog is natural and relatable, with a great sense of humor. Howie is a really great protagonist and kind of averted my expectations a lot, in a really good way!!! He's very outspoken and a nice glue to the conversations he's in. The art is also really really good. The designs for the cast are super well put together and I'm absolutely smitten over them. The gameplay is your average detective game romp, click on things of interest to unlock new conversation topics. Nothing groundbreaking but just helps highlight the game's character and story even more.Definitely informing people about this game and am excited to see more chapters release!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
