Story of Tennis Ace:

Following in the mold of older, classic Japanese visual novels, Tennis Ace features a larger, slower-paced prologue with twelve in-game days before the player is allowed to choose what route they want to take part in. TA follows the protagonist, Yuuichi, as an 18-year-old aspiring tennis professional in his last year of schooling before finally going pro.

The VN has four possible dateable characters: Shoichi, a diligent and affectionate husky that is the MC's childhood friend as well as a volleyball player; Keisuke, an athletic hare that is part of the tennis club coming from an affluent family with a sometimes overly serious nature; Jun, a chubby tiger that is a new transfer student with a gift for music who deeply loves the piano and all things relating to videogames; and finally Haruki, the newest addition to the cast of dateable characters, a wolf in Shoichi's volleyball club, being rough, aggressive and sometimes unfriendly, but with a potential softer side kept locked and hidden away.

I hope you all are doing well. I've been pondering for a bit on the way I do public updates. I decided back when TA first started to set them at 14 days after the release of a Patreon update, but back then I was able to consistently deliver updates on the last day of the month every time. Plus, there wasn't really a standard for how long to wait before an update would go public, so I picked the number on a whim. But I keep losing track of when I'm actually supposed to post the updates now, as I don't always remember the exact day a Patreon update released, and so it's been a bit of a nightmare.

Because of that, I decided I'll post the public updates on the same day I post the Patreon ones, always one build behind. It does mean the delay will be longer, but it'll be way easier for me to keep track of.

As for this update in specific, it's focused on the "bad" path of Shoichi's route. The one you get when you: don't push Shoichi to meet his mom (specifically you back off instead of pushing, regardless of affection points) and then don't ask Saya for relationship advice. This leads to the route where Shoichi pushes too far for intimacy, not realizing Yuuichi is uncomfortable. It would then lead to a heart-to-heart at the park, which is where this path previously ended!

Important disclaimer: In case there is an issue that causes older player saves to stop working, there really is nothing that can be done about that. Sometimes, changes are made to the code that makes some/all old saves stop working and I can't avoid making them at times. If that happens, use the 'Skip to Next Choice' function (alongside Skip Unread if needed) to get to the point where you stopped.

Tennis Ace isn't your standard, run-of-the-mill eroge game featuring gay furries. Although sex and romance are present, the game focuses on delivering a story with interesting characters in the mix, all with their own personalities, secrets, flaws and goals in life. In a sense, Tennis Ace is more of a proper VN than an actual eroge.Let me warn you right now - romance is a slow-burner on this one. You will have to chug through a lot of content and story to get to the "meatier" parts. Despite being in development still, the version I've played has quite a few hours worth of content and I still haven't managed to romance (much less have sex) with a single character; I'm unsure if by poor choices or because the story is still building up. For a game that I assume is still early in development, it is both impressive and a tad frustrating.Nevertheless, I find the quality to be far superior to what you'd normally find around here, both in terms of writing and graphical design, which makes the waiting more manageable.Now, you may think of it as obvious but this game focuses a lot on tennis; if you're familiar with the sport then you will be right at home with this one for it deploys a lot of technical terms during the matches that will leave those less informed (such as myself) scratching their heads. It can be a tad overwhelming at times... maybe even a little boring. There's a visual representation of the ball's position and angle in the court before and after contact, which helps the reader visualize what is going on and adds up the immersion. (To clarify, the matches are mostly automatic though there are some rare occasions where you're given a (timed) choice.)Overall, Tennis Ace is a breath of fresh air compared to the shallow and 2-dimensional eroge games you find about. The quality is superb and the characters are interesting and believable.

Best Gay Furry Visual Novel I've ever played. Lovable Characters A great story and character design from appearance to the growing relationship between characters. Everyone has personality problems that make them so normal and vulnerable. You can identify yourself very well and understand their feelings and thoughts. Fantastic emotions and characters are included in the game.

Conclusion:

Players follow Yuuichi through his school and training days, balancing tennis matches with the people around him. Days progress through recurring characters and settings tied to his school and tennis life, with choices shaping how his relationships and standing develop over time. Adult content is woven into these interactions rather than treated as a separate mode.
