State of Survival: Zombie War is a post-apocalyptic survival adventure game where players build and manage a shelter, fighting off relentless waves of zombies to survive in a ruined world. Useful Tips:

Build as fast as possible the first day, use speeds ups because you will get a lot of these. Build times increase as you progress, and you want to get to that level as soon as possible so you can start to play the game more passively.

Click everything. There are so many rewards/resources to collect.

Make sure you get in a good alliance. There will be lots of rewards.

As soon as possible, buy the £0.79 pack that gives you the permanent second build queue. If you can't buy it, get the second build queue using biocaps.

Always build HQ if possible. Always build highest level troops (for completing intel missions)

If not, build Hero Precint and other required building (barracks, garage or range)

Always be building troops. The highest tier you can, you will need these to farm resources

Be prepared to spend first day playing a lot. Requires a few solid hours to get things going.

Join an active alliance, you will get a lot of speed ups.

When building HQ, build towards the requirements of the next level.

When starting long. multi-day builds... use any "Settlement boosts" you can to shorten build time. Settlement boosts can be found by clicking on your HQ. I would usually buy the 2h 10% boost for 2000 biocaps.

When farming, activate the gathering boosts. I always bought the mega boost for 600 biocaps.

Do not waste too much time on other buildings until later in the game. Your alliance will help out with this, and you can have buildings with up to an hour build queue completed almost instantly.

There is no need to farm in the early stages game. Doing the normal missions, the intel missions (on the map), and the Explore missions (in hero precinct) will get you more than enough resources.... but you will need to farm eventually. So make sure you always have the troop queues full.

Only open resource packs when needed for building (I didn't ever get attacked, but you dont want to open them incase you do).

In hero talents, put all points into development. Eventually you will hit talents that reduce construction time.

Player Comments:

Played for 2 years now, primarily with the mobile version but also on PC. I love the SoS player community. Absolutely incredible people. The game itself has its ups and downs. When you think you start to understand it, something will change and you have to go back to square one.So, If you don't mind continual learning and forever changing events and having plenty to do (later in states more so then in early states) then this game is great. And you need to have a lot of patience for both the people and the game cause even saints get frustrated.If you are looking for routine or things that are done with rhyme or reason, then this probably isn't for you. I say "that doesnt even make sense" at least once a day. Expect the unexpected, to lose, and to be wrong often. If you dont have a lot of time then dont expect to be in a top alliance and if you are not in a top alliance I wouldnt expect to rank in events unless you wanna drop a lot of cash.

The game is challenging, for both free to play players and big spenders. A deep pocket is not enough for you to win in this game. You have to know what you are doing, have good teamwork, and have a great strategy.Did I mention you also need to have a lot of time? There are daily events. Some events span up to 8 hours long, which seems like a long time when you first start but trust me it goes by fast.The direction of SoS has been going very P2W lately however thats not to say the F2P players are invaluable cause that is far from the truth. Just expect to never stop learning and dont be afraid to ask questions. I recommend the game for the community and because I love a challenge. However, I still have a lot of frustrations. Its not a perfect game (what is?) and I stay for my friends and cause I love the community.

I went in to SoS with indifferent and honestly low expectations. The ads I’ve seen don’t do it justice though I know it’s a hard genre to advertise. I really like the multiple things you can do instead of just managing your settlement. I think the little exploration tasks and survival challenges really add flavor to it and are pretty fun. The in game transactions are honestly fair priced and you still get a lot of biocaps for completing missions so unless you have something specific in mind you might not even need to buy to progress. I like the multiple chiefs and their different combat abilities too. I think the events are pretty neat. The dailys are really beneficial too. If I had any criticism it’d be that it might be nice to have troops linger in the battlefield instead of completely returning. It can be a little cumbersome to have two intel missions right next to each other, 80km out, and have to wait 3 minutes for them to come back to send them out again. Though it’s entirely possible I’ve missed something. All in all, I’m having fun with it. Being in an alliance actually feels helpful for timers and such when in other games I’ve barely noticed their assistance. For reference for where I’m at in the game — I’m upgrading my HQ to 18 and I’ve been playing religiously for a week.
