Here is an excellent game that i recently discovered (and no, i know nothing about the 'Jessica series'(?)) with a perfectly proportioned and realistic female protagonist and superb graphics to boot. It's truly refreshing. The main plot also looks already complex and likely full of all sorts of twists and turns. Regarding the sex scenes, they were all hot and exciting; I didn't find anything bad about them.Plus, the writing is undoubtedly of very high quality in this one. I mean, i have never seen such high-quality writing in any of the AVNs i have played so far (and yes, it's very important for me). I did indeed find that all of our heroine's feelings are particularly well described. So, i have to say: kudos to the developers! It's all very promising and i hope it stays that way!! For sure i will be following the rest of the development with great interest.To summarize: For now, an awesome game for those who enjoys portraying female protagonists in a perverted but believable environment. If the future updates maintain this very promising start, i think that City of Sin could become a true benchmark in the genre. From a very open-minded perspective in which I read the other reviews prior to mine.firstly this is a huge step from the original demo, unlike most games with a male MC that many "fans" want an adult game to thrive on the fapping content versus an actual plot for a game and on that concept it is immersive for the debut to actually learn about the character.Easily like most games it is just the start and those I feel that heavily critique it solely on just the first launch are the ones that end up kicking their own ass. I as well played the Jessica series some concepts I do agree with however at the end of the day the biggest pro for the dev is what many lack which is at the start having image and replay galleries, avoid the damn sandbox as it's been way overdone and this game does just that it gives you options that are clear with said achievements going along the way.Major kudos to the dev for ascending in the rendering from the start of doing Jessica, to the current game and that growth has purely been put onto display.

Awesome first release. Kate's character seems intelligent enough to understand the emotional significance of the situations she get in, so good work on the start here.Loved the diverse cast, especially the muscle mommy. Kate is not an avatar and not a blank slate.She is:Former special operations.Trauma survivor with dissociative tendencies.Currently working covertly, under surveillance.Actively resisting both emotional attachment and self-destruction.Episode 1 is intentionally written to place the player inside her head, before fully explaining her history.Her backstory, motivations, and how she ended up working with Mitchell are expanded significantly in Episode 2.This is a slow-burn reveal, not a lore dump.

Why is there so much narration?

This is a deliberate writing choice, City of Sin leans toward psychological interiority  the narration reflects:Kate’s dissociation.Her hyper awareness of surroundings.The way memory, sensation, and trauma bleed together.The narration is not there to describe what you can already see, it’s there to describe what the character is experiencing.If you prefer:Minimal narration,Faster pacing,Visual only storytelling,This style may not be for you and that’s okay.But the narration density is intentional, consistent, and central to the story being told.

Why does Kate spend time dressing, showering, walking, etc.?

These moments serve three purposes:
