User Reviews of Native Camera Mod:

absolutely adore this app. I love having full control over the camera with little to no processing, and the video output is bloody fantastic. there are a couple things to note (and expect, since this is still in development), why does it take so long to take the photo? when you zoom in, it increases and goes into the next camera. but when you zoom out, it resets the zoom when you switch cameras which is really annoying. also can we get a linear button(?) (not a slider) for zoom like a camcorder.

Came from the YT video. works great on my pixel 8. I HATED the way trees used to look, now it looks so much better and more natural. Only 1 major issue on my P8 is that the auto macro kicks in and the lens shifts to the ultra wide in autofocus and this means that the image turns into potato quality. It would be nice if I could just disable this as I can in the official app. And 1 minor issue is that the settings take a second to lock in once changed.

It's super great honestly ngl....The skin tones look so much more natural and pleasant. What I think needs fixing a bit though is exposure when the camera suddenly faces a brighter scene (e.g filming indoors then pointing to a window), it just doesn't adjust or takes really long....Also on my pixel 7 it doesn't seem to access 4k video on the front camera.... Literally just those and I think it's just about perfect....Great work though.

Overall an excellent camera app!! Colors are captured true to life, the limitation is the camera hardware. One big issue with the app is the focus. I can only tap somewhere and hope it focuses correctly, most of the time it doesn’t and the subject gets a little blurry. Also I felt the need of an exposure control slider when I tap on a subject to focus like on every other camera app. I'm giving this a five star for the effort. I hope the developer fixes the focus issue soon.

Final Verdict:

Native Camera Mod offers a highly refined mobile filmmaking experience that caters to both enthusiasts and professionals wanting full manual control over their device cameras. The app stands out by bypassing manufacturer-imposed processing, offering filmmakers cleaner, more vibrant images with access to raw camera hardware capabilities.
